Sunita Burad - Jaipur Pink
Her passion for design with new ideas gave birth to the label Jaipur Pink in 2007 and on 22nd of June 2012 inauguration of the studio in heart of the city was done. The label was inspired by the most iconic monument of Jaipur “The Hawa Mahal ” and the colour of the city ”Pink”, reflecting the soul of the heritage city. She opened it with a dream to bring the essence of India under one roof, expressing art in varied forms and mediums. The broad categories of the store are artefacts, fashion & home decor and every day she has the opportunity to express without being restricted by any boundaries of design. The designer believes in ethnicity, simplicity, elegance and innovation.
Jaipur Pink is all about natural fabrics, handcrafted, handmade, unique - the clothing line reflects timelessness, colour palette expressing peace to passion, accessories bohemian, the mood is soft to vibrant.
The oh-so-amazing collection Love u Bengal -is a tribute to her birthplace, her heart beats for the City of Joy, the simplicity of life in spite of such wondrous craftsmanship like Kantha, Batik, Jamdanis, Handlooms, village crafts & the essence of art in its soul. The love for the street foods – puchkas, jhaal muri, Bengali samosas remains in the taste buds forevermore.
The delicate and intricate Mughal block prints are soothing and have been expressed well in the store and so is her love for Ajrakh from Bhuj, the traditional and modern prints in vegetable dyes gives an earthy character to the collection. The multicoloured silk cushions hand embroidered in Aari, Zardozi, Gota Patti adds drama and festivity to the shelves depicting the essence of Rajasthan.
Creativity and her love for coffee are crazy that she launched the collection “Coffee with Rajasthan” last season -a series of digital images & words played with an element of fun expressed on Cushions, Bags, Coffee Mugs, Folders!!
An artist's life is fulfilled if one is able to express his thoughts and emotions. The designer mentions “I am lucky to have had this opportunity as Jaipur Pink is a huge canvas and every day I can paint it to my choice. I adore travelling, listening to music, be close to nature and love my family & friends. My work brings me joy and contentment and the journey would be impossible without the support of family, friends, team members, vendors, artisans and all those behind the scenes and most significantly my clientele who have shown their love for me by being patrons at our store.” The designer is hoping to extend the goodness of life from her to all, to be part of a social change, to live beyond herself.
